| The No8. Anchor Band is the ideal tie to use in Vines & Kiwi-Fruit. In both crops they offer quick & effective method to train canes. Their ability to grip wire trellis reduces the likelihood of damage in windy conditions. Their ability to stretch to accommodate growth ensures unrestricted plant development without strangulation or damage to the plant. As they biodegrade they are easily removed come pruning time. They are effective, saving time & money on application & removal. The big bonus is a debris free trellis to work with & green litter that biodegrades harmlessly into the soil. Key Benefits
Key Uses In Vines
Effective methods for all situations: Click images for larger view 1.Diagonal Method is good for Bamboo Cane Fixing, loop around twice for more secure hold. 2. Standard Method for Laying down vine & Kiwi fruit canes, loop once or twice depending on tightness required 3. Figure of 8 Method Laying down canes or fixing, ideal in windy conditions giving excellent grip to trellis 4. Short of Wire Method useful to guide canes that are short of wire trellis & for silvos vine fixing & head tying. Also useful method in kiwi-fruit. 5. Crossover Method is great in preventing plants rubbing against wire. Provides rubber barrier between plant & wire. Note: As with any new fixing device there is a learning curve. The results / benefits are well worth the time taken to adapt to using Anchor Bands. PackagingThere are 15 x 1 kg bags to an outer carton & approximately 1100 ties per kilogram. Video DemonstrationCane pruned vines tied down with double looped method using No. 8 (40 mm) Anchor Band video 1 at normal speed & video 2 at a speed slow enough to follow. Even the slowed down speed offers some insight as to the application efficiencies to be gained by using Anchor Bands. The removal efficiencies are that they don't have to be cut off that is why we do not need to demonstrate them being removed.
